Our Dream
Todd and I still don’t exactly know what we want to be when we grow up. But we do know where we want to be.
We want to live in the country, grow and raise food for ourselves and others, run a bed and breakfast, and be an active and fun part of the local community. Inspired by places like Papa’s Pumpkin Patch in Bismarck, ND and Becker Farms in Gasport, NY, our dream keeps getting bigger.
We want the food served at the bed and breakfast to be grown, raised, and processed almost exclusively on our own land. Eggs and meat from our own chickens, dairy from our own cows and goats, fruit from our own vines and trees, vegetables and grains from our own gardens and fields. This dream is big. And it will take time to get there. A lifetime.
This website was created to document the journey to our dream. Right now we are a young married couple with very little. We are starting completely from scratch. We need to gain experience in gardening, cooking, and raising animals. We need to buy land, and build our house (and all the outbuildings we’ll need, too). We are also learning to do all kinds of things handmade – woodworking, sewing, knitting – you name it we probably want to learn it.
We know we’ll get there someday, and we want to share our progress with you.
